I have been making the digital version of the Forest garden for little over a week now. The first part of my two-piece work was sent to SAMK for printing and I have now moved on to the second part of my work.
The first part contained a lot of special practices that I don’t particularly excel at. My previous works with 3d modeling has been more emphasized on inorganic objects. Organic modeling requires a different way of thinking compared to the so-called Inorganic hard surface modeling. Organic modeling requires an understanding of the object as an almost endless procedural collection of details, that linearly get smaller down to the cellular level.
The amount of detail you put into the model affects greatly to the visual style of the object. The detail amount and depth affect the physical appearance of the model, but also how light behaves with it.
Human-created hard-surface objects, like the printer and router next to me on the floor, consist of smaller and smaller parts...
